To celebrate the release of the new anthology Growing Up African in Australia, The Pin in partnership with Citizen Tasmania is hosting a one-off launch event in Tasmania.

Join contributors Grace Williams, Iman Sissay and Shona Kambarami for a night of readings and discussion at Yambu Cafe. This is your chance to hear directly from the authors and secure a copy of the book.

The night will include entertainment by local artists including musician Kartanya Maynard.

Compiled by award-winning author Maxine Beneba Clarke, with curatorial assistance from writers Ahmed Yussuf and Magan Magan, Growing Up African in Australia brings together voices from the regions of Africa and the African diaspora, including the Caribbean and the Americas.
